Honor the Treaties

Welcome to our updated take on the 2022 version of Honor the Treaties. Made once again in iridescent shimmer acrylic, and now adding a gorgeous cedar wood variety with abalone inlay.

The Honor the Treaties design is here in recognition of Treaty Day in Washington State. On January 22nd, 1855, the Treaty of Point Elliott was signed by more than 11 tribal nations in Mukilteo, WA. This group included the Lhaq’temish (Lummi) people, upon whose ancestral land we create our pieces. This treaty guaranteed the sovereign tribal nations who signed it rights to hunting and fishing, as well as reservations, and was necessary to the creation of Washington State.

Today, nearly 170 years later, Honor the Treaties acknowledges the systemic breaking of these treaties by the United States government. The Honor the Treaties earrings are here to resound the echo, “Will you remember the promises you’ve made to the people here today?”

Size: length 4 inches, width 3 inches
