'Metal Moon Time Earring

"This design was inspired by a coming-of-age ceremony I helped with during the winter months. The two young women were told that the ferns are their direct connection to Mother-Earth, and they were used to remind them of their innocence. Not too long after helping with this ceremony, I helped with a healing retreat for women who were survivors of sexual assault and violence. I went outside to ground myself before I had to present and asked for guidance to speak the good medicine to these women. As soon as I asked, I spotted a deer right in front of me; I looked down, and there were ferns all around me. I remembered the connection to innocence and Mother-Earth from the coming-of-age ceremony. 

I returned to the group and shared a message about remembering our connection to the source, and that no matter what happened to us, we all had a time when we were innocent. What happened to us does not take away our worthiness to return to our innocence and our connection to the healing power of the divine feminine of Mother Earth." ~ Vina Brown
